Claudio Morelli is a journalist and a documentary photographer. He first approached to photography during his studies, starting to cooperate as an assistant for commercial productions, and becoming interested in journalism in the meantime. In 2006 he began to work as a news correspondent in Campania for the Emblema photojournalistic agency, mainly involved in politics and crime news. In 2009 he gets registered in the Journalists’ association, and cooperated with the main Italian periodicals; he’s one of the founders of the photojournalists collective Whynot and of D77 studio in Naples. He worked on many reportages for the magazine IL by ilSole24Ore dealing on different issues, like oil pollution in Ecuador, meat industry in Uruguay, general elections in the Amazon Forest of Peru and the phenomenon of Italian Monarch new supporters. In 2013 he works on FAI advertising campaign, which became contents of a book published for the Luoghi del Cuore 10th anniversary. In the same year, he designs and restyles editorial contents together with other journalists. Since 2014 he’s part of the group G124, as author and director of photography. G124 is a project founded by Renzo Piano when become Senator for life, who built a team made by young architects with the purpose of acting for the retraining of peripheries of Italian cities. He also cooperated with l’Espresso, Sette, Le Figaro Magazine, ADAC reisemagazine, National Geographic Traveler, Riders, Studio, 11, Monocle and many more, mainly dealing with socio-economical issues, both for personal and on assignment works.
